There have been some strange goings on in our Forest School today. Early this morning Miss Rowe was doing her usual site check, making sure everything was ship-shape ready for the children. When she came to the fire-pit a little forest feast had been laid out…..berries and seeds, some little biscuits too! Who could have left it and why?
Back in class Miss Rowe shared the news, the children speculated….who could it be? Fairies? Gnomes? Could it be a trap? They headed out to investigate. On arrival, great disappointment, no food, only an old tin. But wait, what’s in the tin? A note…..”We wanted to share our feast but the greedy ogres came – we’ve hidden the treats from them, can you find them using the maps? love the Forest Sprites….Happy Hunting a purple x marks the spot.”
Now Forest Sprites are very common where Miss Rowe is from, down in the sub-tropics of Cornwall, could it be with all these mild winters they are now moving up North? We know signs of Spring have come early this year. Huge excitement at the thought of new visitors from a strange land, so off the children went to find the food packages.
