It has been a very busy week in Year 2!
As part of their RE topic, the children have been on a visit to the mosque. They had great fun learning about the five pillars and how Muslims pray.
Today, we had a visit from Siti – a year 2 parent. She showed the children videos of an Aqiqah ceremony she has attended as well as explain what happens on the actual day. Some children were lucky enough to take part in the ceremony using a doll as the new baby. At the end of an Aqiqah ceremony, children are given sweets to take home so Siti kindly gave all the boys and girls some sweets to take. Thank you to Siti for a very informative and hands on learning experience. We all thoroughly enjoyed it.
