Plant Detectives!

In Science, the Year One children have learnt what a plant is and discussed the different kinds of plants that they can see around them.  All of the children went outside, onto the field, to investigate different plants that they could find.  They were given a sticky cardboard strip to attach a variety of species of plants to.  They were taught how to identify a plant and then how to carefully and sensitively pick a plant.  The children found plants in the meadow around the pond, on the field and amongst the trees.  What a lovely start to the summer term.
