Linked with our learning of Autumn, Nursery have been reading the story of the Little Red Hen.
We have been talking about Autumn, and all of the vegetables and crops we grow and harvest during the Autumn months. After reading the story “The Little Red Hen”, we worked together to make some hedgehog buns, we used bread mix and water to make the dough, kneaded it with our hands, and cut “hedgehog spines” using scissors,
We also used peelers and knives to make vegetable soup to dip our bread in. We used potatoes, celery, carrots and onions. We learnt about knife safety and made sure we followed the rules carefully to keep ourselves safe.

Article 24 – We all have the right to healthy food.
