Friday 25 September 2026 Marvellous Maths! In year 4, the children have been learning about place value. They have explored the value of digits in numbers in the thousands and ten thousands, and they have partitioned them using the waterfall method. Here, they have learnt the importance of a 'place holder 0'. They have also studied these numbers on number lines with different intervals, and calculated 1000 more and less than any 4 or 5-digit number. Using this understanding, they have been able to compare 4-digit numbers using symbols and the vocabulary 'greater than' and 'less than'. As part of the place value topic, they also learn about Roman Numerals, and have enjoyed converting between them and modern day digits.

Thursday 24 September 2026 Mary Anning For the last two weeks Year One have been learning about a very famous lady, Mary Anning, the first person to discover dinosaur bones in England. We have been fascinated by her story and how she excavated dinosaur bones and ammonites.

Friday 18 September 2026 Friction Investigation The children used Newton metres to measure the amount of force needed to pull a shoe across three different surfaces: gravel, a table and carpet. They made predictions about which surface they thought would require the most force and then carried out a fair test to see if their predictions were correct.

Friday 18 September 2026 Dinosaur Workshop Today we were lucky enough to have a visit from Animal Encounters. They introduced their living dinosaurs to us. We met a baby T-Rex, a baby Spinosaurus and a baby stegosaurus. Everyone could touch their scaly skin and they even roared.

Friday 18 September 2026 Year 6 Tag Rugby Year 6 have been enjoying their tag rugby sessions in P.E. They have been developing a range of skills, including passing, catching, moving with the ball and finding space. The children have also been learning about the rules of tag rugby and how to work effectively as part of a team.

Thursday 17 September 2026 Exploring the outdoors. This week, the children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring our outdoor area with their friends.They have enjoyed playing in our new mud kitchen, getting messy and creating lots of imaginative recipes. The children also worked together to build an exciting obstacle course using equipment from our construction area, which was wonderful to watch. They showed great determination and balance as they carefully walked across the beams, encouraging and supporting one another along the way.

Monday 14 September 2026 Art week This week, we have enjoyed reading 'The All Together Painting'. Inspired by the story, we explored a variety of colours and had fun mixing them together to see what new colours we can create! The children thoroughly enjoyed creating their first Nursery painting, using different tools and techniques from the book.

Monday 14 September 2026 Reception Week 2 Our Reception children have had a wonderful week settling into their new routines and learning all about our rules and expectations. It has been lovely to see old friendships from nursery rekindled, while also watching new friendships begin to grow.

Friday 11 September 2026 Our first full week in Nursery! What a fantastic first full week we've had in Nursery! All of the children are settling well into the rules and routines of our classroom. We have enjoyed getting to know each other and the adults who help us in nursery. We have read 'All about Nursery', which talks about starting nursery and what we need. We have enjoyed choosing in the classroom and exploring our learning environment.
