This week in Year 5, the children have been learning about the significance of Eid al-Adha, an important festival in Islam.
As part of our RE lessons, the children explored the story of the Prophet Ibrahim and the important themes of faith and trust that are at the heart of the celebration.
After discussing the key events and reflecting on the meaning behind the story, the children created their own storyboards to sequence the main events. They carefully selected the most important moments and used both illustrations and written explanations to demonstrate their understanding of why Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha today.
The children asked thoughtful questions to deepen their understanding and made links between the values shown in the story and how people can demonstrate kindness, generosity and commitment in their own lives.
