Greek Pottery
Year 4 have been exploring the fascinating world of Ancient Greece and have recently designed their own Greek pots.
The children investigated the importance of pottery in Ancient Greek life. They examined a range of traditional Greek pots and identified the distinctive patterns, shapes and colours used by Ancient Greek artists.
Using this knowledge, the children designed their own Greek-inspired pots before creating them using the coil pot technique. They carefully rolled long coils of clay and joined them together to build the shape of their pots, demonstrating excellent craftsmanship throughout the process.
Once their pots had been constructed and had dried, the children painted them then added decorative designs inspired by traditional Greek motifs and patterns. They took great pride in their work and showed fantastic perseverance when improving their designs.
The finished pots are impressive examples of the children's artistic skills and their understanding of Ancient Greek culture. We are extremely proud of their hard work and enthusiasm, and we are sure you will agree that the results are wonderful!
Well done, Year 4!
