Parent/carer and child workshop
Developing Fine Motor Skills Together!
Today, our Reception children enjoyed a fantastic Parent and Child Homework Workshop in the hall. It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers joining in, working alongside their children and having lots of fun developing important fine motor skills.
Throughout the session, children took part in a range of practical activities designed to strengthen the muscles needed for writing and everyday tasks. Parents and carers were able to see these activities in action and were given plenty of ideas and simple strategies to continue supporting their child's development at home.
To help children practise their skills at home, every child received a special resource bag containing scissors, tweezers, playdough, lacing cards, a whiteboard and pen, a writing book, pencils and phonics books. We hope the children enjoy exploring these resources and sharing their learning with their families.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the workshop such a success. The children were incredibly enthusiastic and proud to show off their growing skills!
Article 29 - Children have the right to an education that helps them develop their talents and abilities to their fullest potential. Today's workshop supported this right by bringing families together to help children develop the skills they need to become confident and successful learners.
