There once was a girl called Mia,
Who lived in Tyne and Wear,
She loved going to school,
She thought it was cool,
And she’s so very glad you’re all here.
This was the introduction to Mia Gordon’s assembly to her class today on National Poetry Day.
During her session, Mia talked about poetry and how poems can inspire as well as make people think. She then reminded the children about Mr Malik’s poem from Monday’s assembly with it’s message about helping others.
At the end of the assembly, Mia shared a poem which the whole class enjoyed because of its link to school but the humorous twist which made everybody laugh.
Well done Mia for a fantastic assembly!
