It looks like it has been another busy week in Year One. As the sun has been shining, we hope that you have all had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather and spend some time outdoors. This week, the children have continued to practise their reading skills, painted pictures of dinosaurs and flowers, built Lego models, and have even conducted some exciting science experiments. If that wasn’t enough, lots of the children have been enjoying a walk as part of their daily exercise. They have made tally charts to record the number of birds, bees and butterflies they could see and have also used the opportunity to post letters to their friends. It is lovely to see so many of you have been practising your cooking skills too. You have been very busy making sandwiches and baking some delicious treats. We have also noticed lots of the children have been logging on to Mathletics. Well done Year One!
As well as making sure you all have plenty to do at home and in school, the Year One team have been enjoying spending time with their loved ones too. Miss Norman has been trying some new recipes in the kitchen and has enjoyed reading her book in the garden. Mrs Hopkins has been putting her general knowledge to the test in a family quiz night and Mrs Lewis has been making the most of the sunshine enjoying walks to Beamish woods with Mr Lewis.
It is always wonderful to see what you have been doing at home, so don’t forget to keep sending us your photos ([email protected]).
Remember to stay safe, have fun and keep smiling.
