Another week of home learning, ending with a bank holiday where we hope that you have been able to enjoy the VE day celebrations at home. E-mails this week have really shown some impressive skills: making a carbon battery to power a clock is beyond what even your teachers have attempted to do and we were really impressed to see exercise being cranked up a notch to involve squatting with a sister on your back! It is also pleasing to see so many of you continuing to log on and do the work that has been set for you.
There has been some lovely weather this week and we hope that you have enjoyed the sunshine and have taken the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors: playing games, walking, bike-riding, running and having water fights. As the lock-down goes on, it is important that you continue to have fun and make the most of the time that you can spend with your families.
Mr Allen has spent a lot of the last week playing ‘contact’ rugby with his son in the garden as Henry is desperate to get back on the rugby pitch; Mrs Galvin has been walking Freddie and teaching him some new tricks; and Miss Callaghan has been learning the art of baking cakes that look beautiful, but don’t taste quite so beautiful and trying not to kill her flowers!
Remember to keep working on your Reading Plus, Mathletics and TT Rockstars as these basic skills will be essential when you do return to school. Well done to those of you who completed this week’s writing challenge; look out for a new one on Monday.
We know that next week would have been SATs week and, whilst there isn’t a test result to recognise your hard work this year, we would like to say a huge well done and thank you for all of the effort that you put in to your revision and studies. Finally, we are only ever an e-mail or phone call away if you need anything.
Stay Safe!
