Hello Everybody! We hope that you are all well and still keeping yourselves safe. It has been another busy week here in Year One at Harlow Green school. This week we have welcomed back some of our pupils. It has been lovely to see them as we have missed everyone so much. Thank you for all of your kind messages wishing everyone a safe restart.
We have yet again received many photos incorporating a plethora of activities that you have all been doing at home. Many of you have been taking advantage of the warmer weather and completed more outdoor learning activities in your gardens. This has included concocting potions, making bird feeders or simply just playing games and exercising outside. We have had news of a new family pet. Can you spot the cute puppy below? Thank you for completing the English and Maths activities this week. Not only have we seen some great descriptions using adjectives but also some creative ways of learning to count in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. Remember to look at the website on Monday for some more Maths and English Home Learning activities.
In the classroom we have learnt about the life cycle of a frog and made some hanging frog mobiles. We were proud of the results. We hope you like them too. The teachers have also been busy outside of school. Miss Norman has completed her beautiful Disney jigsaw. It’s Dumbo of course! She has also had time to catch up watching Downton Abbey. Mrs Hopkins has been gardening and finally harvested her first ever home grown lettuce. She has been eating it in her sandwiches at school. It tastes scrumptious. Mrs Gillender, apart from being very busy in the classroom, has been enjoying the sunshine and going on very long walks. Mrs Lewis has been helping her Mum get used to her new wet room and doing more gardening. Her garden has never looked so gorgeous!
