Writing this post feels strange and somewhat sad in many ways. Usually, the end of Year 6 is a time where we say goodbye with a Leaver’s Assembly, Graduation, celebratory meal, shirt signing and other events and, to be honest, there is no way we can do full justice to the end of your time in school in a web post. We are sorry that circumstances have prevented us from being able to mark your final week in a more fitting manner and hope that you are leaving with many fond memories of your time here and that the last few weeks will not detract from that. As teachers, we feel immense pride in the way you have maturely dealt with the events of Year 6: from the increased workload and revision when you were in school; to the changes brought about by the school closure; and the acceptance that this year, things would just have to be different. We have missed seeing you all in the last few weeks and it was lovely that you were all able to pop in to pick up your hoodies and say goodbye in a more personal way. As individuals, you have all flourished during your time at school and the most important thing for us is that you leave Harlow Green ready for the next step in your education and lives and we are certain that this is the case. We look forward to hearing about your continued success in secondary school and hope that you can return and visit us in the future to share tales of your new, exciting adventures. From all of us at Harlow Green, goodbye, good luck and stay safe.🌈
