Year One went back in time this week. We learnt all about fossils and how they can help palaeontologists learn about the lives of dinosaurs. They even found out about a special kind of fossil called an ammonite. Everyone had a go at making a fossil out of salt dough. They had to roll it into a ball, flatten it and then make an imprint with a dinosaur toy. It was very sticky but the children had a lot of fun. Take a look at some of our amazing fossils. Later on we learnt about extinction and that one theory could be that a volcanic eruption destroyed the dinosaurs. As a follow on, the children enjoyed painting an exploding volcano. Whoosh!
