Stick Safety is a vital part of the children’s Forest School journey. In the willow house we encouraged the children to work out the best way to maneuver the materials. They then practiced in a circle watching each others techniques and making any changes. Once that was completed the children were set the task of collecting the den building materials and stacking it away. They were incredibly proud of their work and showed that they are beginning to access for risks as they move about the site. Very important so they can progress to more complex activities and work independently in safety.
Principle 3: Forest School aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners.
