What amazing writing we have seen in Year One this week. The Year One children have been learning about the importance of starting every sentence with a capital letter and ending it with a full stop. Firstly we talked our sentences out loud and even added actions for a capital letter and a full stop. (Ask your child about them.) Then with our talk partners we thought about sentences to match pictures from The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch. Some of us even used adjectives or even made our sentences longer by using and. After a lot of practise, the children had a go at writing the sentences in their book. They tried their best with their handwriting and wrote some amazing sentences. Well done everyone!
