For our Design and Technology project, Year 4 have had great fun designing and making puppets from felt. Firstly, the children designed a hand puppet that was based on a Hindu God or Goddess. Following this, the classes learnt and practised different stitching that they could use to join to join materials together. Next, each child carefully cut out the outline of their puppet using felt. The children then spent some time joining the two pieces of felt together using running or overstitching. Finally, everyone added embellishments to their puppets based on their original design. We were all very impressed with the finished puppets and we are sure that you will be too!
