Bonjour, the children in Year 3 have enjoyed their sports week. They ran an impressive 6 laps of the field as part of our Race for Life and have been proudly wearing their medals. Thank you to everyone who has made a donation for Cancer Research. They also enjoyed an energetic hula hooping session which was great fun. We began our week by talking about the Olympic Games and discussing Olympic values and the 5 Olympic rings. We have enjoyed learning about our chosen Olympic country – France, where we took a virtual tour of Paris taking in some of the sights such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. On Wednesday 14th July, people in France celebrate Bastille day and we found out why this is such a significant day for French people. In addition, we learnt about the famous Tour de France and designed our own cycling jersey. We really enjoyed trying to create some Art work in the style of the famous French artist Georges Seurat using a technique known as pointillism. Our sports week ended with an exciting cooking session, where Miss Rowe cooked delicious crepes using the fire pit.
