As part of Sports Week, Year Six (Mrs Galvin’s class) took part in lots of fun activities: clay modelling to make sculptures to represent their time at Harlow Green; making sculptures of sporting events out of foil in the style of artist Giacometti; and producing posters to promote water safety. The children (and Mrs Galvin) also really enjoyed Hoopstarz – we all learned lots of cool, new hula-hooping skills!
Each year group has been learning about a country that is taking part in the Olympics. The children in Year Six studied Kenya and enjoyed learning about the animals and tribes living on Maasai Mara Reserve as well as recreating artwork by Kenyan artists Stephen Njenga and Gakonga.
What a fantastic week!
