Spooky goings on in Reception!

We have had a super spooky week in Reception this week as part of our topic. The children have enjoyed learning all about Halloween and why we celebrate it as a festival. We have had so many different activities to take part in too like; Painting pictures with spaghetti broomsticks, and mixing their own orange paint for our pumpkin printing, scooping slime and water beads in our messy play, carving pumpkins, making monster cakes, learning about our Skeleton with a visit from Mr Bones, creating potions in the mud kitchen, making magical wands and dressing up in our Witches Kitchen home corner. We all loved dressing up on Friday for the last day of term and sharing our costumes with our friends. We have been so busy this week and have loved having such a creative week to end our very long first half-term!

Literacy

We read the story ‘What’s in the Witches Kitchen?’ and thought about how we could make our own witches brew. The children added different objects into their potion and wrote the words to match. They have all tried really hard to Fred talk using their fabulous phonics skills from this half term.

Have a look at all of our spooky pictures and activities from this week below.
