As this years Forest School sessions come to a close for Christmas, the children were given a free play session so we can observe what they’ve learned and what they’ve really enjoyed. It was great to see how independent and confident they have become.
Principle 1: Forest School is a long-term process of frequent and regular sessions in a woodland or natural environment, rather than a one-off visit. Planning, adaptation, observations and reviewing are integral elements of Forest School.
Article 6 -We all have the right to be alive and to develop in the best possible way.
- The swing was put up by the Year 6’s, it has had some reinforcement but many children enjoyed swinging in the trees.
- Hanging around is always fun.
- As an extra challenge the children were given blindfolds on the rope lines.
- These girls wanted to create their own little shelter. They started with a tripod.

- Meanwhile some very determined boys decided to build a full sized raft.
