THE BAUBLE PROJECT!
This year we have launched a new project across school – The Bauble Project.
The aim is that each year in school, the children will use their Art or DT skills to decorate a wooden bauble engraved with the school logo. These have been handmade by volunteers at the charity The Cutting Edge at the St Margaret’s Centre in Durham.
These are designed as a keep-sake with the intention of children collecting them each year as they go through school.
The design skill focus this year was painting, with each phase in school having a different painting skill to apply from our curriculum including using straight vertical lines, applying a colour wash or sketching a design prior to painting. We hope that the children keep their artworks and will hang them on their Christmas trees at home now and for many years to come.
Look out for your bauble coming home this week!
