Welcome back to Reading Corner for 2022! We hope that you have had the chance to explore lots of books over Christmas and into January. As a new year begins, new books are published and there are already some strong contenders for my favourite book of the year. Please let us know if you read any of our recommended books and let us know what you think of them.
Inside the Suitcase (Age 3-7): I love books with flaps and things hidden to be discovered and this book certainly doesn’t disappoint. Follow the travels of a little boy as you uncover the treasures in his suitcase. Includes a great memory game too!
When the War Came Home (Age 7+): War books are a favourite of mine and in Year 6 the children love reading ‘Friend or Foe’ by Michael Morpurgo. This historical mystery book contains an interactive clue, so the reader can unravel the mystery. An interesting take on war as Natty, who moves to a new village, meets two soldiers still coming to terms with the war in very different ways.
