This week, the children have had a great time learning about Easter. We read the Easter Story from the Usbourne children’s bible and talked about what Easter means to Christians. We tasted hot cross buns at snack time and we made chocolate nests. In our literacy books we spotted Easter eggs hiding in the garden scene and wrote sentences to describe where the eggs were hidden using positional language. We then went on a real Easter egg hunt in the garden. In maths, we learnt all about pattern. We made repeating patterns with gems and shapes. We also enjoyed lots of other Easter themed activities in the areas of our classroom. We are now looking forward to the Easter holidays and are hoping that the Easter bunny may pay us a visit.
