What an extravaganza of a day we have had in year one celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Firstly, we all looked resplendent dressed in red, white and blue and positively regal wearing our homemade crowns. At lunch time, we all sat outside with the whole school to hold our street party. We all enjoyed our food and afterwards we even had an ice cream. During our lunch we were entertained by some amazing opera singers, the Singing Hinnies, some giant stilt walkers and even a royal break dancer. Afterwards, we played a selection of traditional games including hook a duck, a coconut shy and a tin can alley. We had so much fun supporting our friends to do well. Some of us even had our photo taken with our royal guest, The Queen.
In the afternoon, year one looked at artwork by Agent X. He is a collage artist with a secret identity. All the children decorated an outline of the Queen’s face with flowers in the style of an Agent X portrait.
