Last year, as a school, we created an Interfaith calendar to celebrate the traditions and celebrations of different faiths and cultures within our community. This year, Year 5’s focus is on the Sikh religion. We looked at the Sikh festival of Hola Mohalla and the celebration of Guru Nanak’s life.
Yesterday, the children looked at these celebrations in closer detail, and today the children designed their entries. The children used water colour to create a bright background to correlate with the celebrations of the Sikh faith. The winning entry will be picked by our Rights Respect officers, whom I’m sure will have a difficult decision to make as all of the children did such a great job!
