This week in Reception, we read the story Squirrel’s New Years Resolution. The children shared their experiences of Christmas and new year at circle time and we talked about things we would like to achieve in the coming year. The children had some great aspirations such as, learning to swim or riding their bikes without stabilisers. During topic time, we watched the New Year fireworks display from London on the interactive board and had great fun using scarves to join in and make up firework inspired dances. The children also made their own firework pictures with paint and collage materials. The children also found out about some famous London landmarks such as Big Ben, The London Eye and Buckingham Palace. The children Then used these landmarks to navigate the programmable Beebots to and from each place. Take a look at some of the pictures below.
