The children started this week by discovering a dinosaur egg in the classroom. This led to the children discussing what a dinosaur is, what they already know about dinosaurs and learning the names and simple facts about other dinosaurs. The children also listened to two stories called ‘123 Do the Dinosaur’ & ‘Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus’ to deepen their understanding. Later this week, the children also learned about the life cycle of a dinosaur and made up their own movements to represent the life cycle i.e. curling up in a ball like an egg and jumping and shaking to show the egg hatching etc. During choosing time, lots of children have also made their own dinosaur crafts and printed using the dinosaur feet and paint. The children have also enjoyed some dinosaur dancing and yoga.
