This week, the children have been learning how to measure the mass of an object. We started off looking at different divisions on number lines (0-100) and working out the sequence by dividing 100 by the amount of intervals the number line has. The children then looked at measuring in grams. They started off looking at balancing scales and weights and adding the weights together to find out the total mass.
The children then moved on to look at measuring scales. They were able to measure to the nearest gram and were able to use their prior knowledge to work out the sequence of each scale. By the end of the week, the children were ready to look at a set of scales and they measured different objects in the room to work out the objects mass.
