This week, we had a special visitor in school. Nurse Wendy, who works at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Gateshead, visited Reception and Year 1 to talk about what happens if you have to visit the hospital. She reassured the children that there is nothing to worry about if you have to visit the hospital. The children enjoyed trying out some of the special equipment that is used on patients such as heart monitors, blood pressure machines and stethoscopes. Some children also tried out plaster casts and bandages. Nurse Wendy was keen to hear about the children’s own experiences of visiting hospital and she was able to answer the many questions the children asked.
