The Rugby World Cup in France has inspired the Year 6 children over the last half-term and their block of lessons culminated in a tournament between the two classes.
Over the last seven weeks, the children have developed their understanding of passing and tagging and it has been fantastic to see their skills improving. Each week, new laws have been introduced including knock-ons, forward passes and offside. It has been lovely to see the children talking about rugby; watching games from the World Cup; and some children even joining local rugby clubs to further explore their enjoyment.
In the tournament itself, Mrs Jennings’s class came out worthy winners (much to the disappointment of Mr Allen) but overall rugby itself was the winner!
