In this horrible, rainy weather there’s not a lot to do outside, so it’s the perfect time for grabbing a book and reading.
The start of the year always sees some brilliant new book releases and WHSmith and Waterstones have some excellent displays of picture and chapter books that are well worth a look.
There’s A Gorilla at The Door (Age 4+): A brilliant picture book with a deeper meaning about living in a blended family. This book will have you and your child laughing at the family action and choosing your favourite member of the animal family.
Jack Splash (Age 8+): Jack, the worst diver, in the worst diving team in Damp Bottom, sees his luck change when a new pupil with magical abilities joins the school. A great book penned by Olymic diver Tom Daley – a must for any sport fans.
