This week the Year 5 children have started their new unit of Islam.
We started the week by recapping their learning from Year 2. The children could remember a great deal. They were able to recall facts about mosques, the Qur’an and worship.
We then compare the key feature of the religion to our Autumn topic of Christianity.
The children then got to have a deeper understanding of Allah. We looked at how Allah has 99 name and why he has so many.
We understood that their no artwork of Allah himself as he is so special no one would be able to depict him. However, there are artwork to represent Allah so that children all created a decorative name card to represent one of Allah’s 99 names.
