This week in Nursery we have made a dark den in our classroom, and have explored using torches.
We started our week reading the story ‘Kipper’s Monster’. Kipper went on an adventure in the woods to build a den with his friend Tiger. When they were in the woods a horrendous, terrifying shadow appeared outside of their den – they were so scared! When Kipper went to investigate, he found that the shadow was made by a tiny snail who was made to look big because of a torch shining on him to make a shadow. We decided to construct a den in our nursery classroom to have a go at making shadow puppets too. The children enjoyed shining the coloured torches for each other and then trying to copy the shadow puppet examples on the wall behind.
