Today we celebrated an incredibly successful year of sport in an assembly with Years 4, 5 and 6.
Mr McMann has steered clubs, teams and events across the year to deliver an incredible year of winning sport, with over 230 children at sports clubs and 15 gold medals out of our 27 tournaments attended. We have received awards we have never achieved before and got through to numerous county finals too.
Today some representatives and coaches from Gateshead FC came in to give out some of our end of term medals, awards and trophies that recognised contributions to sport across the year. The trophy then toured school and all the children got a chance to ask some questions and get their pictures.
Last week we attended the Gateshead School Sports Partnership Sports Awards at the Federation Brewery where one of our children picked up an award for Young Sports Leader and another individual and team all received a highly commended recognition. These children were amongst dozens we could have nominated for teams and individuals who contribute so much to our school sports.
Also this week we received notification of our 5th School Sports Games Gold award which recognises the contribution sports makes to the health, well being and activity levels of our children in school.
