This week in Year 5, we moved onto our next topic, and for the next two weeks, we are going to be learning all about rivers. To start off our new topic, the children used atlases to identify and locate the most famous rivers in the world.
They were given a blank map with rivers from each continent. In pairs, the children worked collaboratively to identify each river and write its name in the correct place on the map. The children worked very well and identified rivers such as The Amazon, The Nile, The Mississippi River and lots more!
Next week, we will be looking at the different uses of rivers, as well as the three mains parts of a river, as well as going on our trip to the River Sill.
