As part of the school’s expectation that children and staff will have high standards of themselves and will grow, happy, healthy and successful, together, the first sports contracts were issued.
After an assembly by Mr Malik reinforcing the school rules of Ready, Respectful and Safe, Year 4, 5 and 6 were told about the need for children representing school to behave appropriately in class and for the team they are part of. Information was then shared regarding the new sports contract which would begin with the football teams.
After the assembly, the main football squad (which appears to be a large as Chelsea’s!) stayed for the contract signing with their head coach, Mr McMann. All the children had the opportunity to opt out if they didn’t agree, knowing that they must meet the standards within the contract in their everyday school time as well as at football training/matches. However, all the squad members understood the responsibility and privilege of being part of the football team and were delighted to sign on the dotted line.
We look forward to seeing the team present themselves as pupils who are ready, respectful and safe, and who always try their best, especially when there are challenges.
