In Year 6, we feel it is important to develop the children’s understanding of being responsible in preparation for secondary school.
At the beginning of the year, all of the children applied for a position in school. They had to consider which role they would most enjoy and think about the qualities that would be needed to fulfil that role. After this, they wrote a letter of application and then had a rigorous interview where they were put on the spot with some difficult questions.
The children who were given jobs then discussed what their duties would be and have met with the necessary teachers to arrange how they will carry out these duties. It has been lovely to see some of them already hard at work in their new positions.
