Our gardening club began this week. Bob showed the children what will need doing in the allotments over the next few weeks. First job to collect the potatoes and turn over the soil, getting the raised bed ready for re-planting. They had a good haul and divided the produce between themselves to take home. It is a busy time of year for gardeners so there will be plenty to do between now and Christmas.
The Holistic Learning Principle: Forest School aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners.
Article 3: Everyone who works with children should always do what is the best for the child.
- We’ve let the summer flowers fully bloom but now will need clearing.
- Sorting the right tools for the job.
- Digging out the potatoes.
- A good harvest.
- Sharing them out.
- The bed is now cleared and raked.
