This half term, Year Six have been looking at 3D modelling during Computing lessons.
The children have been using the Tinkercad programme to use editing skills to manipulate shapes on screen. First, they examined the similarities and differences between working digitally with 2D and 3D graphics. They then moved on to combine 3D shapes, including lifting, rotating and positioning the 3D object to produce a house. Finally, this week, they produced a 3D model of a pencil holder desk tidy which contained objects of specific dimensions and used other 3D objects as placeholders to create holes. Lots of the children have been so enthusiastic that they have been using the Tinkercad programme at home to make their own designs.
