Miss Rutherfords class had their first Forest School session for this year. In class we had a class discussion about what our school rules, Ready, Respectful and Safe, looks like in the Forest School. The children were confident in their knowledge, Ready is not just getting our bodies ready for the weather, it is also opening our minds in readiness to take opportunities to experiment and get creative. Respect is not just about how we treat other humans but also how we nurture and protect all living things in our natural world. Safe is covered with their stick safety training and an understanding of how we mitigate risks. This may be as simple as giving a rope a tug before you swing on it, to how you safely work with tools.
Outside in the Forest School they demonstrated their understanding fixing up some resources, collecting leaves for mulching, spending time with the hens and making some Autumn trees.
