Sharing success is important at Harlow Green. However, we do not give out lots of prizes as the important aspect is for recognition to be shared genuinely and personally. This is done throughout school regularly and in many ways by all staff; this can range from conversations in corridors, to certificates, to contacting parents.
One of the special ways in which recognition is shared is through Mr Malik’s Hot Chocolate Friday. During this session there is the opportunity for the Head Teacher to see children each week who have demonstrated how hard they have been working and how well they have followed the rules of Ready, Respectful and Safe, Although the treat is nice, the time spent talking about how good the children have been is the best part. During the session, time is taken to speak with the children and find out how well they have been doing so that the children know how proud people are of them and how proud they should be of themselves.
