Once Upon a Bicycle!

Our Fun Day at the Post Office!

This week has been so exciting in our reception class! We read The Jolly Postman by Janet and Allan Ahlberg, and it was so much fun to see all the different characters he delivered letters to. Inspired by the story, we decided to set up our very own role-play post office!

We had parcels to wrap up all snug and tight and letters to post, just like the Postman. It was a bit messy with all the wrapping paper, but we loved it! Outside, we found the giant bucket scales – what a fantastic way to explore heavy and light things. We were giggling as we weighed the large bricks and even some of our super big letters!

Later, we played a postman maths game where we matched written numbers to amounts on a dice. It was a brilliant way to practice our numbers while having fun.

In literacy, we got really creative and wrote letters to Santa! We can’t wait to post them next week and hope he gets them in time for Christmas. What a great time we’ve had! We can’t wait to do it all again!

Article 30- We all have the right to take part in cultural and creative activities.
