In RE, the boys and girls have been learning about the importance of Moses to people of the Jewish faith. They enjoyed listening to the story before ordering the events and verbally retelling it to their partners. The children were all very curious and asked some great questions along the way. They then reflected on the 10 commandments given to Moses at the top of Mount Sinai and shared what they personally believe is important, before creating their own set of rules to live by.
The children then learned about the Jewish harvest festival of Shavuot. We discussed the rituals that Jewish people follow during Shavuot and created flowers to display the rituals. Shavuot coincides with our learning, as the festival takes place on the same date that Moses received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai.
