Sticky Christmas Decorations

Our nursery children really enjoyed working on the Sticky Sticks and Sticky Leaves last week, so this week they worked together to decorate a large, wooden, Christmas star, that some of our older children had made in the Forest school.

Squishing the pom-poms into the sparkly glue was very satisfying. Some children were also able to twist on pipe-cleaners, which is quite tricky to do. Others used the pipe-cleaners to draw into the glue, leaving swirly patterns, some had a go at letter forms. The star has been hung outside the nursery for everyone to see. After that they worked with clay, manipulating into shapes and adding leaves and twigs to create a variety of creatures. They were very pleased with their work so decided to display them in the round window.

The Community Principle: Forest School uses a range of learner-centred processes to create a community for development and learning.
