Chez Moi!

In their weekly French lessons, Year 4A have been learning how to say and write rooms within a home.

This week, the children have been learning how to say the different types of rooms you would find in a house in French. They started the lesson by thinking of the different rooms they had in their house and then began learning the French translation. The children learnt the terms for:

  1. une chamber – bedroom
  2. une salle a manger – dining room
  3. une salle de bains – bathroom
  4. une cuisine – kitchen
  5. un bureau – an office

The children then used their knowledge to match the correct French translation to the correct picture. Then, the children completed a listening task, where they put their new translation knowledge to the test by listening carefully for key phrases in order to match the correct room to the corresponding letter.
