This week in Nursery, we had a visit from our local Lollipop person – Donna!
As part of our mini topic, People Who Help Us, we have been learning all about the people who help us complete daily tasks, when we are poorly or in need of help. We had a visit from our local Lollipop person who helped us learn about the safety measures we need to take to cross the road safely. Donna talked to us about her uniform and accessories and the importance of them for her to successful cross people over the road.
Donna taught us that we must ALWAYS stop, look and listen before crossing the road. We must only cross with an adult but if we aren’t with an adult we need to use a lollipop person or a designated crossing point.
We went to the school yard to practice crossing our play road safely. We listened for instructions and rules to ensure we were doing this correctly with Donna’s help.
Article 5 – All adults are duty bearers.
