Thumbs up for Henry Finch

The children have begun working on their new text in English called ‘I am Henry Finch’. It is a picture book about the power of thought, and how you need peace and quiet to be able to hear your thoughts properly. The children have loved reading a different kind of text where they have to use their inference skills in a different way to understand the characters’ thoughts, feelings and actions. To launch the text, they created their own illustration of the flock of finches in the thumb-print style of the book. They have also sequenced and summarised the key plot points, plotted the main characters feeling on an emotions graph and compared the layout to the other texts they have studied.
