Marvellous Monarchs Assembly

This week, parents and carers of children in Year Two were invited into school to attend an assembly linked to the children’s learning in History.

The theme of the assembly was Marvellous Monarchs and focused on the reign of Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth II. The children shared facts about each monarch, including the length of their reign and information about their family.

As part of their topic, the children learned about Henry VIII and his terrible temper. The boys and girls sang a song – Divorced, Beheaded and Died – to explain the fate of each of his wives.

To conclude their assembly, the children sang the National Anthem.

It was wonderful to welcome so many parents and carers into school to share the children’s fantastic work.
