This week, the children in Year 1 have been completing artwork based on the work of Keith Haring.
Over the past two weeks, Year 1 have been learning about Keith Haring, who is a contemporary artist. The children started their unit of work by looking at some of his work and we realised that he always includes cartoon figures with bold colours in his art.
As Keith Haring’s artwork pieces are filled with lines in different vibrant colours, the children explored making different kinds of lines in both felt tip and paint. They used straight lines, scalloped lines and spirals among others.
The children also investigated how secondary colours can be made out of primary colours. They practised making secondary colours which they then used in their final piece.
